Running Windows XP on Asus Eee PC

“Though the Asus Eee PC Windows XP variant isn’t due out until sometime in April, HotHardware was able to get their hands on a full retail bundle before they hit store shelves in the US. The standard assortment of accoutrements is included in the bundle, along with a couple of notable upgrades. Asus took the initiative to provide an additional 4GB SD card from Adata, a healthy storage expansion for the system. In addition, an Asus-branded optical mouse was thrown in for good measure. Microsoft’s Windows Live messenger, photo gallery and email suite are pre-installed on the the machine for collaborative and social networking capability, in addition to Microsoft Works for word processing, spreadsheets, and calendar functionality.”

Windows Vista SP1 management tools for the Hyper-V release candidate are now available

Microsoft Windows Vista Service Pack 1 management tools for the Hyper-V release candidate are now available.

This update package installs the Hyper-V remote management tools on a computer that is running Windows Vista Service Pack 1 (SP1). This package includes the following:

  • The Hyper-V Manager. The Hyper-V Manager is a Microsoft Management Console (MMC) snap-in that provides management access to a Windows Server 2008-based server that uses the Hyper-V role.
  • The Virtual Machine Connection. The Virtual Machine Connection is a remote connection tool that you can use to establish an interactive session on a virtual machine.

Hyper-V provides customers with efficient and cost-effective virtualization infrastructure software. It enables customers to reduce operating costs by increasing hardware utilization, optimizing infrastructure and improving server availability. Customers and partners can download the release candidate at http://www.microsoft.com/Hyper-V by 10 a.m. PDT today.

Windows XP Service Pack 3, Release Candidate 2 Refresh Available Now

The Windows Serviceability team is pleased to make available Windows XP Service Pack 3, Release Candidate 2 Refresh (XP SP3 RC2 Refresh).

The purpose of RC2 Refresh is to validate improvements to the Windows Update experience with Service Pack 3. Therefore, this beta release will be available only on Windows Update, in English, German and Japanese. Beyond fixes for common Windows Update issues and the inclusion of support for HD Audio, there are no substantial differences between this beta release (build 5508) and XP SP3 RC2 (build 3311).

Upgrading From Windows Vista To Windows XP

What? “Upgrading From Windows Vista To Windows XP” are you kidding?

No! No! No! An article “Review: Windows XP” that posted in Coding Sanity blog that link to Slashdot with more than 300 comments and keep increasing.

This is really interesting! Personally I still prefer Windows XP if choice between XP & Vista. Anyway I will suggest use Ubuntu Linux. Said NO to Micro$oft.
