According to source, Windows Vista Service Pack 2 (SP2) looks set to hit manufacturers in April next year.

Does Microsoft Windows Vista SP2 really can help? I was remember I have to wait for 33778 Days and 6 hours for copy 18.8GB data from external disk to Microsoft Windows Vista SP1.

Microsoft is doing their best to rush out Service Pack 2 for Windows Vista so there will be additional incentive for folks to upgrade to Window Vista now, instead of waiting for Windows 7. So the latest schedule should come as no surprise.

A confidential source has revealed that Microsoft will deliver a Release Candidate in February, 2009 with the final SP2 binary scheduled for RTM (Release To Manufacturing) in April, 2009.

As always, do remember that when Microsoft announces that a product is RTM, it doesn’t mean you will be able to download it right away. RTM merely means it is “released to manufacturing”, including OEMs. Actual public release will be sometime later. Release to web (RTW) will also occur sometime after RTM.

What’s New In Windows Vista SP2?

Adds Windows Search 4.0 for faster and improved relevancy in searches.

Contains the Bluetooth 2.1 Feature Pack supporting the most recent specification for Bluetooth Technology.

Ability to record data on to Blu-Ray™ media natively in Windows Vista.

Adds Windows Connect Now (WCN) to simplify Wi-Fi Configuration.

Enables the exFAT file system to support Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) timestamps, which allows correct file synchronization across time zones.

Microsoft is getting serious about security, offering a free anti-malware package code-named Morro that has been specially designed for low cost PCs.

A very simple question which came to my mind immediately after read from the source. Tell me who’re going to use Microsoft Anti Virus? Who are going to give change to those joker – VIRUS producer which mostly anti Microsoft and always target Microsoft products. I would said NO THANKs to Microsoft.

The Microsoft antivirus software will be available in the second half of 2009 and will provide ‘comprehensive protection’ from ‘the majority of online threats’, including viruses, spyware, rootkits and trojans.

Morro is based on – and will replace – the current Windows Live OneCare subscription service, although it has been architected to use fewer computing resources, making it ideal for low-bandwidth scenarios or less powerful PCs.

Also destined for the chop is Equipt, Microsoft’s short lived excursion into consumer software-as-a-service, offering cloud storage of files, updates to Microsoft Office packages and Windows Live OneCare, for an annual cost of £59. Microsoft Equipt launched just one month ago.
