Nuffnang Innit Add Post Bug

by Planet Lowyat on 25/12/07 at 11:32 pm

Nuffnang.com is the Asia’s first and leading blog advertising community so far. Innit launched as a component of Nuffnang 2.0in November 2007 and with the generous help of many of our Nuffnangers in Malaysia and Singapore, they have spent the past week testing for bugs and making sure that Innit will be able to handle the scale that it is in for.

Today, we’re just encounter a small bug(so called bug for us) on Nuffnang Innitadd post‘.

Look at the red color error message as images show above “Invalid URL. Blog must be registered with Nuffnang and have a currently running Nuffnang ad unit”.

In fact, we know this is one of the marketing strategies and fine. The problem is we can’t add any post in Innit for the URL contain http://www.planetlowyat.com/blog. Why? Because we don’t have http://www.planetlowyat.com/blog sitting inside Nuffnang Blog manager but we have te primary domain http://www.planetlowyat.com inside the Nuffnang Blog manager.

Can we so called a bug for Nuffnang? I think they should ignore sub domain checking in the ‘add post’ system. As long as you have the main domain register in the system, Nuffnang should allow any article posted in Innit.

Note: This is not a complaint but just to share with each others.

Well, tell that to Ming or Tim so they can sort it out.

I think they have a few things to iron out, currently it doesn’t work with UTF8 on URL either.

Hi,

Innit handles the submission of subpages just fine (otherwise you would not be able to submit any individual posts at all).

However, I notice from the screenshot that you are trying to submit a page from “www.planetowyat.com” while you are registered under “www.planetlowyat.com”. Because “planetowyat” doesn’t exist in the system, you will not be able to submit the post.

The problem solved. You may noticed the screen show as above actually wrong URL which is http://www.planetowyat.com/blog instead of http://www.planetlowyat.com/blog

But seriously this is not the actual screen shoot taken during error happen & I used to edit manualy. Anyway YES! Probably my fault. Human error!

Thanks for the quick reply from Nuffnang.
