Martin said: First impressions using a Dell Streak are very positive. As I use Mac, this is the first Dell product I ever use. At 5 inches it’s big but still fits in your pocket. Dell has adapted Android to the larger dimensions and the whole experience is more comfortable. Forget about the m in your URL, you can browse normally. The 5 MP camera is great for videos an pictures, it comes with edit software. On the negative it uses an unusual charging cable and the power button is too close to the camera button. Will be even better with Froyo. It is the biggest smartphone but it is thin and light, much smaller than an iPad.

According to source, Apple will start selling a cheaper, ‘entry-level’ iPhone sometime this summer, for around $99 after subsidy. Cool? Here are the details and this is not finalize.

The main cost reductions would come from fewer features — not a crappy ‘iPhone Nano‘ or something without a multi-touch screen. Abramsky thinks it might have a lower-resolution camera, no 3G Internet access or GPS, and a cheaper data plan (~$15/month) with a usage cap. We agree that lowering the monthly bill would help drive iPhone sales, but carriers won’t be thrilled.

Meanwhile, the iPhone 3G will get feature upgrades, such as a better camera, video capabilities.

He thinks Apple could sell 20-30 million of these cheaper iPhones in fiscal 2010, boosting Apple’s smartphone market share to almost 20%.

Cheaper iPhone will eat into iPhone 3G and iPod sales. And a lower subsidy and lower margins means Apple will have to sell three times as many to make the same gross profit from one iPhone 3G. He expects fiscal 2010 iPhone gross margins to shrink to 35%-37% from 50%+.

Let’s wait and see!

Nokia today unveiled the Nokia N79, the latest addition to the Nokia Nseries multimedia computer. The new N79 offers a full range of multimedia experiences including integrated navigation, music with FM transmitter, high-speed connectivity, at least 10 pre-loaded N-Gage games and an 5 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics. The Nokia N79 is expected to begin shipping in October 2008, with an estimated retail price of EUR 350, before taxes and subsidies. The retail package will also include a 4GB microSD memory card.

For Nokia N85, not a lot of surprises with the N85 since it popped in the FCC database a couple weeks ago and started appearing in the wild: 2.6-inch AMOLED screen, GPS, five megapixel cam, N-Gage compatibility, 8GB of microSDHC storage, WiFi, and a 28-hour music playback battery life.

Everything Dream was sent a short clip of a sweet looking device that seems to fit the description of HTC’s Dream phone powered-by Android OS!

The video footage of what might be the HTC Dream looks mighty pleasing and could possibly be the first-ever iPhone 3G killer. How and why you might ask? It’s simply because the Dream offers every single features on the iPhone 3G and more. By more, I mean a slide out QWERTY keyboard, same 3.5-inch touchscreen, GPS, and did I mention the goodness of Android OS?

HTC recently reaffirmed that the Dream phone is on schedule for Q4 launch, debunking rumors of a delay by analyst Trip Chowdhry of Global Equities Research. According to Chowdhry, HTC is “having structural problems to incorporate Google’s demanded feature set”, while Google “is not able to attract enough developers because toolkits offered by Microsoft, Apple, RIM and Nokia’s Symbian software group have sucked up software developers’ attention.” HTC reached out to sister site Android Community to set the record straight, and reiterate – as Google themselves did back in June – that Chowdhry’s information is incorrect and that HTC are still on track for a Q4 launch.
