Asustek to launch Android handset in 1H09
Asustek Computer plans to launch its first Android based Google phone in the first half of 2009, according to company sources. Samsung have announced the I7110, a 12.9mm thick smartphone running Symbian S60 with a 2.6-inch AMOLED display. The I7110 includes both 3G HSDPA (900/2100MHz) and quadband GSM/EDGE, together with WiFi, Bluetooth 2.0 and GPS. According to Digitimes System, Asustek Computer is planning to launch notebooks featuring a touch panel in the first or second quarter of 2009.
Asustek’s new touch panel notebooks are expected to take advantage of Windows 7, said the sources. Asustek showed concept notebooks featuring two touch panels during Computex 2008.

Asus has launched a 15.6in touchscreen desktop PC, dubbed the Eee Top.
It’s come with 1GB of memory, 1.6GHz Intel Atom processor, 160GB hard disk, built-in 1.3 megapixel webcam, a set of stereo speakers, wired keyboard, mouse, Sun Microsystem’s Star Office and Microsoft Windows XP.
